Warrants / Fugitives Probation & Parole

The Fugitive Warrant section is responsible for entering probation and parole violators into the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) database, detaining violators in other states and returning them to Louisiana for hearings. During fiscal year 2007-2008, the section returned 1037 absconders arrested in other states to Louisiana. All probation violators returned to Louisiana are afforded a Revocation Hearing in the Court where they were originally prosecuted. Parole violators returned will appear before the Louisiana Parole Board. A Parolee convicted of a felony offense while on parole in another state will be returned to Louisiana and will be revoked. They will appear before the Louisiana Parole Board for an ID Hearing rather than a revocation hearing.

If you know the whereabouts of a Probation/Parole absconder, please forward information to P&PWarrantDivision@corrections.state.la.us
